The Village serves as a grand facade for Bangsar South – the latest integrated city development in the Klang Valley. Forming part of a 60-acre development by UOA Group, The Village houses the property gallery, show units and 3-stories of F&B; outlets. Located just off Jalan Kerinchi, off the Federal Highway, the area is a remake of what used to be Kampung Kerinchi. It is close by to The Vertical .

Analysis

As part of the developer’s deal with DBKL in land development, UOA has helped to improve the infrastructure access between the residential and commercial projects by widening the main road leading into the area into three lanes as well as upgraded the Putra LRT’s Universiti station. Pedestrian pavements and sheltered pavilion have also been built, much to the joy of the residents in the area. Walking to the LRT stations and in and about Bangsar South is now safer and shielded from sun and rain.

Another improvement is the 200m-long link that was just recently completed in May 2011 to improve access to the Kerinchi LRT station. Residents had to walk almost 20-minutes to the station previously. Now, the bridge which links from Bangsar South Horizon 2 is connected to the existing pedestrian bridge over Federal Highway. Residents will now save a good 15-minutes walk to the LRT station.

The Village along with the entire development of Bangsar South is an impressive new township. An upgrade (of Kampung Kerinchi) that can even be seen from the Federal Highway and even from the Sungai Pantai area near Tasik University Malaya is a boost to the neighboring communities of Pantai Dalam, Taman Bukit Angkasa and Bukit Putra. The area is also easily accessible and is just 5-10 minutes in between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur city center.
